‘Welcome 4’ script nears completion; OG trio set for reunion

New Delhi, (UNI) Even before the release of ‘Welcome to the Jungle’, the upcoming third instalment of the Welcome franchise, reports suggest that the makers have already begun planning ‘Welcome 4’.

The biggest highlight of the reported development is the return of the franchise’s iconic trio, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar and Paresh Rawal, who are expected to reunite for the fourth film.

‘Welcome to the Jungle’, directed by Ahmed Khan, is currently gearing up for its theatrical release on June 26. However, reports now indicate that the makers are already moving forward with plans for the next chapter in the popular comedy franchise.

Kapoor and Patekar had taken a break from the series in the third installment, making their potential return a major point of excitement for fans.

Earlier in the day, a report stated that the script for “Welcome 4″ is already nearing completion, even before the release of the third film. The development gained further traction when Rawal and Suniel Shetty, who made a cameo in the first ‘Welcome’ film, acknowledged the news on their respective X handles.

Paresh Rawal reposted the report and wrote, “Jai Ho” Suniel Shetty, meanwhile, shared his excitement in a longer post, “In times of chaos, some news just feels… right. The OG madness, Nana, Anil & Paresh, the heartbeat of the ‘Welcome’ universe, are back. And no one does madness with that much brilliance. So happy to see the boys back where they belong. Welcome 4.”

According to reports, ‘Welcome 4’ will feature a completely new storyline rather than continuing from the previous film, while bringing back fan-favourite characters including Nana Patekar’s Uday Shetty, Anil Kapoor’s Majnu Bhai and Paresh Rawal’s Ghungroo.

Meanwhile, ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ boasts a massive ensemble cast led by Akshay Kumar and featuring Jackie Shroff, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Johnny Lever and Rajpal Yadav, among many others.

The ‘Welcome’ franchise, known for its chaotic humour and memorable characters, remains one of Bollywood’s most popular comedy series, and the potential reunion of its original trio is already generating excitement among fans.
