Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Police conducted a fire safety training programme and mock drill at the Police Headquarters on Saturday to strengthen disaster management preparedness among officers and staff.
The exercise was organised on the ground floor of the headquarters, where security personnel and employees were trained to control fire incidents while ensuring their own safety. Experts demonstrated modern firefighting techniques and explained the proper use of various fire control equipment.
Participants received practical training on safely extinguishing fires involving flammable liquids using fire extinguishers and other specialised tools. Personnel also practised methods to control flames while protecting themselves from smoke and heat.
Honorary Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohanlal Mehra, Security In-charge Inspector Mukesh Saini and Sub-Inspector B.S. Hooda of the Police Fire Station at Mantralaya, Bhopal, supervised the training along with the fire brigade team.
Officials also explained that fires are broadly classified into five categories—Class A, B, C, D and E—each requiring different firefighting methods.
Authorities advised that during a fire incident, emergency services should be informed immediately and people should avoid panic, refrain from using lifts and evacuate buildings through designated safe routes.
