Patna, March 5 (UNI) With Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar taking a final call to move to Rajya Sabha, independent MP Pappu Yadav on Thursday strongly favoured handing over the top post to CM’s son Nishant Kumar.
Strongly batting in favour of Nishant, Yadav said “Make Nishant the Chief Minister, otherwise BJP will turn Bihar into a grazing ground.” He said that in the interest of Bihar, Nishant should be made the chief minister.
Yadav appealed to the leaders to unite and support Nishant, warning that failing to do so could allow the BJP to dominate the state politics.
Yadav urged leaders, including union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, Chirag Paswan, Lalu Prasad and Upendra Kushwaha to come together and prevent Bihar from becoming a “grazing ground for the BJP.”
Urging the like-minded leaders to keep BJP at bay in Bihar, Yadav said the doors should be shut for the saffron brigade, adding that political differences can be resolved later.
Meanwhile, the Rashtriya Janata Dal also reacted sharply to the developments. RJD leader Mrityunjay Tiwari claimed that the developments proved the party’s earlier warnings about the BJP’s intentions.
Tiwari said that no one expected that the BJP would remove Nitish Kumar so quickly after the elections. However, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav had consistently warned that the BJP would weaken the Janata Dal (United) and eventually remove Nitish Kumar from the Chief Minister’s post, he stated.
Nitish Kumar has been the central figure in the state politics for nearly 21 years, and with the confirmation of his decision to move to the Rajya Sabha, the stage is now set for a significant political shift in the state’s power structure.
