Escorts Kubota to Invest Rs 2,300 Cr in Greater Noida Plant in First Phase

Hyderabad, Mar 3 (UNI) Escorts Kubota Limited (EKL), an agri-machinery and construction equipment major, on Tuesday announced an investment of Rs 2,300 crore in the first phase of its proposed greenfield manufacturing facility at Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh.

The company’s Board has approved the acquisition of 150 acres of land in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region for setting up the plant, which will be developed with advanced Japanese technology and manufacturing processes, Chairman and Managing Director Nikhil Nanda said on the sidelines of the launch of the Powertrac ‘Shaurya’ South Special paddy tractor series here.

He said the upcoming facility will initially manufacture tractors and is expected to expand into harvesters, rice transplanters and engines in subsequent phases.

The plant will cater to both domestic and international markets, strengthening India’s position as a global manufacturing hub for the company, while existing plants will continue operations, he said.

The investment forms part of the company’s mid-term business plan through FY31 and is aimed at enhancing production capacity, supporting new product launches and expanding market share, he added.

Nanda said the company will also introduce four-wheel-drive tractors and PowerTrak variants tailored for the southern market. The new products will be rolled out in phases with the objective of covering nearly 85 per cent of agricultural application requirements across India.

Between six and ten new products will be launched every year as part of an aggressive expansion strategy, he said, describing the current phase as one of the most dynamic and transformative periods in the company’s journey.

Company officials said the Greater Noida plant will be among the most modern facilities in the sector, combining global technology standards with cost-efficient Indian manufacturing practices.

EKL Deputy Managing Director Akira Kato, Chief Officer (Tractor Business Division) Neeraj Mehra, and Whole-time Director and CFO Bharat Madan were present at the event.
