Vibrant varieties of Gujhia add flavor to Holi celebrations in Amritsar as global demand surges

Chandigarh, March 2 (UNI) As the festival of Holi approaches, the culinary landscape of Amritsar has transformed into a vibrant palette of flavours, with local confectioners introducing innovative varieties of the traditional sweet, Gujia.

To heighten the festive spirit of colours and joy, sweet shops in the city have moved beyond conventional recipes to offer a diverse range of flavoured Gujias, including mango, chocolate, pistachio, and strawberry variants. These unique offerings have become a major attraction this season, drawing significant interest from locals and tourists alike.

The demand for these specialised sweets is not limited to Punjab but has extended across the country and even to international markets. Confectioners noted a substantial rise in online orders, facilitating the delivery of these festive delicacies to various parts of India and abroad.

Anjali, a local shopkeeper, explained that the inspiration behind these colourful and multi-flavoured sweets stems from the essence of Holi itself, a festival of love, harmony, and colours. She highlighted that the positive response from customers has led to a daily increase in the volume of orders.

In addition to individual sweets, many establishments have curated special gift packs that combine these flavoured delicacies with traditional Holi colours. These packs are designed to allow people to celebrate by playing with colours while sharing the sweetness of the festival with their loved ones.

Business owners believe that such creative innovations are not only boosting local trade but are also doubling the joy of the celebrations by offering something modern yet rooted in tradition.
