Jerusalem, Mar 1 (SPUTNIK/UNI) Dozens of homes in Tel Aviv have been damaged or partially destroyed in an Iranian missile strike, a Sputnik correspondent reported today.
On Saturday, one Iranian missile fell on a densely populated city-centre neighborhood.
Windows were shattered across many residences, with some structures seriously damaged and now uninhabitable. Residents were throwing away ruined belongings and shattered glass. Many families would now have to look for new housing. Utility crews and police were working on the scene.
Earlier, air raid sirens blared repeatedly across Tel Aviv and other Israeli cities amid the Iranian strikes. The attacks killed one person and injured over 100. On Saturday, the US and Israel carried out a series of strikes on targets inside Iran, including in Tehran, with reports of destruction and civilian casualties.
Iranian state television confirmed the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iran responded with missile strikes on Israeli territory and on US military facilities in the Middle East.
