PV Sindhu, Manchu Vishnu among Indians stranded at Dubai airport amid war tensions

Hyderabad, Mar 1 (UNI) Escalating war tensions involving Iran, Israel and the US have disrupted international travel, leaving Indian badminton star P V Sindhu, actor Manchu Vishnu and several Telugu celebrities stranded at Dubai airport.

The developments were shared by Sindhu and Vishnu through posts on social media platform X.

Sindhu, who was travelling to Birmingham, UK, to participate in the All England Badminton Championship beginning March 3, was forced to halt in Dubai after airport operations were suspended due to airspace restrictions and security concerns. She was stranded along with her coach, Irvansia Adi Pratama.

In her post, Sindhu said they narrowly escaped a life-threatening situation, recounting a nearby explosion and sounds of missiles being intercepted in the sky, which created panic.

She said timely action by Dubai authorities and the Indian government helped move her team to a safe location. Sindhu expressed gratitude to Dubai airport staff and the Indian High Commission in Dubai for their support.

Actor Manchu Vishnu, who was in Dubai with his family, also shared videos and posts describing panic caused by loud noises and missiles visible in the sky. Thousands of passengers remain stranded at the airport as they await normalisation of the situation.
