New Delhi/Dubai, Feb 28 (UNI) Two-time Olympic medallist shuttler PV Sindhu has been left stranded at Dubai airport after flight operations were suspended in the wake of missile strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran.
Sindhu was travelling to Birmingham for the prestigious All England Open, which is scheduled to begin Tuesday, with Dubai serving as her transit halt.
However, the escalating conflict in the region forced one of the world’s busiest aviation hubs to shut down operations temporarily, bringing departures and arrivals to a standstill.
Sindhu shared visuals from the airport on Instagram, capturing the uncertainty and confusion among passengers. She captioned the video with the stark message: “All flights suspended until further notice.”
The All England Open, one of badminton’s most historic tournaments, is set to get underway on March 3 in Birmingham. It remains unclear whether Sindhu will be able to reach the venue in time for the start of the competition.
