New Delhi, Feb 28 (UNI) In the wake of the break out of war between the US led powers against Iran and the war theatre expanding quickly to Middle East, Indian carriers operating to Middle East on Saturday announced immediate suspension of operations.
Air India, IndiGo and SpiceJet have announced immediate suspension of operations to Middle East cities.
Air India has withdrawn all its flights on the Middle East routes. “In view of the developing situation in parts of the Middle East, all Air India flights to all destinations in the Middle East have been suspended,” the airline company informed.
IndiGo also announced suspension of all their operations to Middle East in view of the airspace restrictions around Iran and Middle East. The airline company has called off all flights on the route till 00:00 hrs. “Our teams are continuously monitoring the evolving situation and recalibrating operations to minimise disruption as much as possible,” the airline informed.
SpiceJet also communicated its customers of disruptions in operations due to airspace closure in Dubai (DXB).
There were reports of multiple explosions in missile attacks around UAE capital Abu Dhabi’s airport which led to imposing air space restrictions by UAE.
