Varanasi, Feb 27 (UNI) A youth who allegedly sent an SMS to senior advocate Shrinath Tripathi threatening to bomb the lower court and kill him was arrested by Bhelupur police late Thursday evening.
The accused has been identified as Ajit Kumar Saroj, a resident of Rasipur Sattanpur.
According to the police on Friday, during interrogation, the youth revealed that he was a law student and a regular visitor to the court. He acted with the intention of trapping a neighbour.
The investigation also revealed that the man was in relationship with a woman. It was also learned that the woman”s family opposed the relationship.
The accused used a mobile number associated with the woman to issue threats and trap her family.
A joint team of the surveillance team and the Special Operations Group (SOG) traced the number within a few hours. Further interrogation of the man is currently underway.
