Bhopal: The State Congress Vichar Vibhag will organise an intellectual discussion on Thursday at the Pradesh Congress Committee office here.
Senior Congress spokesperson and State president of the Vichar Vibhag, Bhupendra Gupta, informed that the theme of the programme will be ‘Gandhi ke Ram aur BJP ke Nathuram’. He said noted journalist and thinker Pankaj Chaturvedi, State Congress president Jeetu Patwari, and Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar will address the gathering and present their views on the subject.
Gupta alleged that the recent removal of Mahatma Gandhi’s name from the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) scheme reflects a change in the ideological approach of the ruling dispensation. He claimed that the move is also creating hurdles in the effective implementation of the scheme, which has been beneficial for labourers in rural areas.
He further stated that the discussion aims to deliberate on Gandhian values, the ideological direction of the country, and issues concerning rural employment and social harmony. Party leaders and intellectuals from across the state are expected to participate in the programme.
