Maharashtra seeks CBI probe into Ajit Pawar plane crash

New Delhi, Feb 25 (UNI) The Maharashtra government has formally approached Home Minister Amit Shah seeking a CBI inquiry into the plane crash that claimed the life of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar last month.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, while speaking to media in Mumbai, said the Mahayuti government is committed to ensuring complete transparency in the matter and leaving no questions unanswered regarding the tragic incident.

He stated a letter from an ally of the BJP and the NCP demanding a CBI investigation was received and subsequently discussed with the union Home Minister. Following these discussions, the Centre has been urged to hand over the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation.

Apart from the ongoing probes being conducted by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the state CID, a CBI investigation is now expected to be initiated to further examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
