Nashik quakes! 4 earthquakes in 24 hours in Harsul, administration on alert

Nashik, (UNI) Mild tremors have been felt in the Harsul area of Trimbakeshwar, Nashik district, in the past 24 hours.

Due to the continuous tremors, the villagers had to leave their homes for some time. Fortunately, no loss of life or damage to property was reported. However, the administration has become alert due to the frequent tremors.

According to local informants, after the first tremor was felt, the ground shook lightly three more times at an interval of a few hours. Some citizens have also claimed that there was a sound coming from under the ground. Although the intensity of the tremors was low, the four tremors in a short period of time created an atmosphere of fear. It was observed that panic was created, especially among children and senior citizens.

As soon as the information about the incident was received, the revenue administration and disaster management system became active. The situation is being reviewed by the relevant departments, and information about the exact intensity and epicenter of the tremors is being collected from the seismological centers. The administration has said that further explanation will be clear only after the official report comes.

According to geologists, such mild tremors can be felt mainly due to subsurface movements or local geological changes. However, if there is continuous vibration, it is necessary to monitor it. Therefore, an appeal has been appealed to the citizens to follow the official instructions instead of believing in rumours.

Some areas in the state of Maharashtra are considered seismically sensitive. Therefore, the administration takes immediate action if such incidents occur. The situation in the Harsul area is currently under control and public awareness is being created at the local level to prevent any panic.

Overall, although there was no damage, the tremors felt four times in 24 hours have made the citizens wary. The administration has clarified that the situation will be closely monitored for the next few days.
