Police recover stolen goods worth Rs 1.43 cr

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Police has intensified its drive against organised crime, financial fraud, burglary and robbery, recovering property worth more than Rs 1.43 crore across various districts over the past five days. The concerted operations reflect the force’s continued commitment to curbing economic offences and safeguarding public property.

In Rajgarh, under the special campaign Operation Kisan Rakshak, Narsinghgarh police uncovered a Rs 39 lakh land sale fraud targeting farmers. Two accused were arrested and the entire defrauded amount was recovered.

A dedicated police team conducted an in-depth examination of bank transactions, documentary evidence and technical data. Investigations revealed that the accused misled the complainant into purchasing land that had already been sold, fraudulently obtaining Rs 25 lakh through RTGS and Rs 14 lakh in cash. Swift raids led to their arrest and ensured full restitution of the farmer’s hard-earned savings.

In Ujjain, Badnagar police solved a theft case involving gold and silver jewellery and cash worth Rs 10.45 lakh, arresting the accused. In a separate case, Nanakheda police cracked a burglary at a vacant house. After analysing over 100 CCTV clips and conducting cyber analysis, two habitual offenders were arrested from Indore and property worth Rs 5 lakh was seized.

In Jabalpur, police dismantled an organised racket engaged in illegally dismantling trucks and cars for scrap. Vehicles, cut scrap parts, oxygen cylinders and equipment worth approximately Rs 50 lakh were seized during the operation.

In Khargone, two separate actions were carried out against property-related crimes. In one case, police arrested five accused involved in the theft of 37 batteries from a private company warehouse. Batteries worth Rs 6.5 lakh and a car used in the crime worth Rs 6 lakh were seized, taking the total recovery to Rs 12.5 lakh.

In another swift operation, police arrested two fraudsters who lured women with promises of doubling their jewellery or money. A gold ornament worth approximately Rs 90,000 was recovered from their possession.

In Katni, Dhimarkheda area, police arrested two accused in connection with the theft of a sound system worth Rs 3.5 lakh from Gram Podikala (Surdas Ashram).

In Ashoknagar, Kachnar police arrested four accused for a burglary at a vacant house, seizing gold and silver ornaments, Rs 30,000 in cash and two motorcycles, with total recoveries valued at around Rs 8 lakh.

In Bhopal, Kolar Road police apprehended a habitual offender and seized stolen property worth Rs 2 lakh. The accused has 15 previous cases registered against him, including dacoity, theft, burglary and violations under the Arms Act.

In Narsinghpur, Police arrested an individual involved in stealing gold and silver jewellery from a vacant house and recovered property worth approximately Rs 12 lakh.

In Sagar, Motinagar police arrested an आरोपी in a robbery case and recovered a gold locket valued at Rs 25,000.

These actions underscore the Madhya Pradesh Police’s zero-tolerance policy towards crime, combining technical expertise, swift response and coordinated teamwork to ensure public safety and protect citizens’ property.

The police have urged the public to verify documents thoroughly before entering into financial transactions, land deals or investments, and to report any suspicious activity to the authorities without delay.
