Bhopal: The 19th All India Police Shooting (Sports) Championship–2025 commenced on 24 February at Revati Range, Indore, organised by the Border Security Force’s Central School of Weapons and Tactics (CSWT). The event was inaugurated by Madhya Pradesh Director General of Police, Kailash Makwana.
Congratulating the BSF and CSWT for hosting the championship, Makwana said such competitions strengthen esprit de corps, discipline, concentration and professional excellence among the forces. He extended his best wishes to all participants and described sports culture as integral to holistic policing.
The opening ceremony featured a ceremonial parade by teams from Central Armed Police Forces, state police units and Union Territories, accompanied by a performance from the BSF brass band. Senior BSF officers, over 1,500 personnel, their families and numerous citizens attended.
Held from 24 February to 1 March under the aegis of the All India Police Sports Control Board, with oversight from the Ministry of Home Affairs and technical support from the National Rifle Association of India, the championship hosts over 600 shooters competing in 17 events for 204 medals. Cultural performances and a weapons exhibition also marked the occasion.
