‎PM Modi congratulates Rob Jetten on assuming office as Netherlands PM

‎‎New Delhi, Feb 24 (UNI) ‎Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday extended his congratulations to Rob Jetten on assuming office as the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, expressing optimism about further strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.

‎In a message posted on X, Prime Minister Modi wrote, “Congratulations Mr. Rob Jetten on assuming office of the Prime Minister of the Netherlands. India and the Netherlands share an extensive relationship across diverse sectors. I look forward to working closely with you to add further momentum to the growing ties between our two countries and people.”

‎The congratulatory message underscores the importance New Delhi places on its partnership with the European nation, with which it shares strong cooperation in trade, water management, agriculture, climate action, high technology, and innovation.

‎India and the Netherlands have witnessed steady growth in economic engagement over the past decades. The Netherlands is among the largest European investors in India and also serves as a key gateway for Indian companies entering the European market. Bilateral trade has expanded significantly, supported by shared commitments to sustainable development and clean energy transitions.

‎Beyond economic ties, the two countries collaborate closely on global challenges including climate change and maritime security. Strategic dialogues and high-level visits in recent years have reinforced cooperation in emerging technologies and green hydrogen initiatives.

‎Prime Minister Modi’s message signals New Delhi’s intent to deepen collaboration under the new Dutch leadership and build upon the “growing ties between our two countries and people,” as he described.

‎Rob Jetten’s assumption of office marks a new chapter in Dutch leadership, with both sides expected to maintain continuity in their comprehensive partnership while exploring new avenues of engagement in the years ahead.
