New Delhi: Sebastian Pillay, Vice President of the Republic of Seychelles, led a high-level delegation to the corporate headquarters of NBCC (India) Limited in New Delhi, underscoring growing cooperation between the two nations in infrastructure development.
During the visit, the delegation held detailed discussions with NBCC’s Chairman and Managing Director and senior officials regarding proposed development projects in Seychelles. A comprehensive master plan was presented for infrastructure development across nearly 139 acres of island territory. The proposed project includes affordable social housing, premium villas, hospitality and recreational facilities, sports infrastructure and other key social amenities aimed at supporting sustainable island growth.
The delegation was also briefed on NBCC’s successful execution of the 2,000 social housing project in Hulhumalé, Maldives, where skilled Indian manpower and construction materials played a significant role in timely completion.
Vice President Pillay expressed confidence in NBCC’s technical capabilities and appreciated the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable infrastructure solutions. NBCC is currently undertaking the construction of the Indian Chancery building, a cultural centre and residential units in Seychelles, reflecting India’s continued commitment to strengthening bilateral development partnerships.
The visit highlights the shared vision of India and Seychelles to deepen long-term collaboration in infrastructure and capacity building.
