Sanjeeda Shaikh to play pivotal cameo in Yash’s ‘Toxic’

New Delhi, Feb 22 (UNI) Yash’s much-anticipated film ‘Toxic’ continues to expand its star-studded lineup.

In addition to its five leading ladies, Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria, the makers have now roped in Sanjeeda Shaikh for a special appearance, Variety India reported.

Sanjeeda, widely known for her successful television career, has gradually carved a space for herself in films and streaming projects, with appearances in Fighter and ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’.

While specifics about her role in ‘Toxic’ remain under wraps, sources indicate she will play a brief yet significant character that acts as a key link in the film’s narrative.

The project also marks her first pan-India film, offering her a broader platform to showcase her range as an actor.

‘Toxic’ has generated buzz ever since its announcement, with excitement peaking after the release of its teaser. The film marks Yash’s return to the big screen four years after the blockbuster success of ‘KGF Chapter 2’ in 2022.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the action drama is reportedly set to feature Yash in a double role, adding another layer of intrigue to the project, according to Variety India.

The film is scheduled to hit theatres on March 19, where it will face a major box office clash with Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh’s much-awaited ‘Dhurandhar: Revenge’.

Meanwhile, Sanjeeda Shaikh has a packed slate ahead. She will next appear in Ajay Devgn’s ‘Dhamaal 4’, slated for release on July 3, 2026, followed by Netflix India’s ‘Ikka’, in which she stars alongside Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna.
