Bhopal: In a concerted drive to curb vehicle theft across the state, Madhya Pradesh Police has carried out coordinated operations in multiple districts, recovering 53 stolen two-wheelers through technical analysis, CCTV surveillance, informer networks and swift field response.
In Khargone, police exposed an inter-district motorcycle theft gang, apprehending three accused and one juvenile in conflict with the law, and seizing 13 motorcycles worth approximately Rs 6.5 lakh. In a separate action, another habitual offender was arrested and six motorcycles worth Rs 3 lakh recovered, taking the district total to 19.
In Panna, Shahnagar police arrested three persons, including the kingpin and a buyer, recovering 11 stolen motorcycles from Panna, Katni, Chhatarpur and Anuppur districts. Amanaganj police separately seized one motorcycle within 24 hours of receiving information, bringing the district total to 12.
Arrests and recoveries were also reported from Chhatarpur (6 motorcycles), Gwalior (5), Indore (6), Sheopur (1), Katni (2), Datia (1) and Vidisha (1).
Police officials said the sustained and strategic operations underline their firm resolve to tackle vehicle theft. Citizens have been urged to follow safety precautions while parking and report suspicious activity promptly.
