More than 250 Congress workers from across the state participated in the process, submitting applications to represent their respective districts.

The interview panel included state party leaders and former Uttar Pradesh MLA Bhagwati Prasad Chaudhary, who serves as the department’s state in-charge. Candidates were assessed on their organisational experience, social work, engagement with Dalit issues and commitment to the party.

State SC Department president Pradeep Ahirwar said that after completion of the process, discussions would be held with PCC chief Jeetu Patwari. Final appointments will be made in consultation with Chaudhary and on the recommendation of national president Rajendra Pal Gautam to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level.
