NIA Chargesheets fifth key accused in 2024 Bihar AK-47 rifle seizure case

New Delhi, Feb 20 (UNI) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed charges against the fifth accused in a 2024 Bihar AK-47 rifle seizure case.

Manjoor Khan, a resident of Muzaffarpur, was arrested by the NIA in August 2025. He was found to have been actively involved in the illegal procurement and smuggling of prohibited bore weapons to Naxalites and other criminals.

NIA investigations revealed he had conspired with co-accused persons in the illegal weapons smuggling racket.

In its supplementary chargesheet filed before the NIA Special Court, Patna, the agency has charged Manjoor Khan under various sections of the IPC, Arms Act and UA(P) Act following meticulous investigation in the case.

In May 2025, NIA had chargesheeted accused Vikash Kumar, Devmani Rai, Satyam Kumar and Ahmad Ansari in the case, which was originally registered by Bihar Police against these four and unknown others after the seizure of a AK-47 rifle along with a lens.

NIA is continuing with its probe to ascertain the role of other suspects and accused persons to uncover the larger conspiracy of procurement and supply of sophisticated weapons.
