Lucknow, Feb 20 (UNI) In a late-night crackdown, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) busted an alleged bribery racket linked to the recruitment of contractual employees in the TRD department in Orai, sources confirmed on Friday.
A team from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Lucknow unit, conducted raids and arrested three individuals, including DEE TRD Shantanu Yadav and technician Prakash Kushwaha from Chitrakoot. Senior Section Engineer (SSE) TRD B.S. Pal was allegedly caught red-handed while accepting money from candidates.
The operation was led by CBI Inspector Devesh, who, along with his team, carried out coordinated raids late at night on Thursday.
According to sources, one accused was arrested from Orai, while the other two were apprehended in Chitrakoot. All three were taken into custody for questioning.
The sudden action has sent shockwaves through the department, triggering panic among officials. Further investigation is underway to determine the extent of the alleged bribery network and identify any additional individuals involved.
