Bhopal’s Transgender groups clash over allegations of forced conversion

Bhopal: A bitter feud between two rival transgender factions intensified on Tuesday as the city’s Collectorate became a site of fierce protests and slogans. Scores of members from one group gathered to demand the expulsion of “Suraiya Kinnar” from the city, leveling explosive allegations of forced religious conversions and the mistreatment of Hindu members within the community. The protesters claimed that despite previous complaints, the administration had failed to take action, prompting them to escalate their demands for a formal investigation.

In a swift rebuttal, the Suraiya faction held a press conference to dismiss these claims as a “scripted conspiracy” fueled by professional jealousy. Suraiya’s representatives argued that the community is inherently secular and survives on the goodwill of all faiths. They accused rival leader Kajal Thakur and “Kinnar Akhada” founder Rishi Ajay of fabricating “Love Jihad” and conversion narratives to settle scores over territorial control and leadership seats. Describing the allegations of forced dietary changes and religious coercion as baseless, the Suraiya group confirmed they have filed a police complaint against their detractors for inciting communal disharmony. As tensions remain high, local authorities are monitoring the situation to prevent further public disruptions over the ongoing territorial dispute.
