MANIT Students empowered on Cyber Security and Road Safety

  • Safer Internet Day:

Bhopal: To mark “Safer Internet Day,” a high-profile awareness program was organized at the MANIT campus on Tuesday, focusing on the twin pillars of digital security and traffic discipline. The event was graced by Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar as the chief guest, alongside Additional Police Commissioner Monika Shukla and MANIT Director Dr. K.K. Shukla. Addressing a gathering of over 350 students, Commissioner Kumar described the surge in cybercrime as a formidable challenge for future policing, urging youth to adopt disciplined digital habits and strict adherence to traffic laws.

The session transitioned into a practical masterclass as Additional Commissioner Monika Shukla detailed Bhopal’s traffic management systems, explaining the role of ITMS and e-challans in reducing road fatalities. Meanwhile, Additional DCP (Crime) Shailendra Singh Chauhan provided a deep dive into the evolving tactics of cyber fraudsters. He briefed students on the IT Act, RBI guidelines, and the “Sanchar Saathi” app, offering a tactical toolkit to stay safe in an increasingly connected world. The program concluded with an interactive Q&A session where Police Commissioner Akhil Patel addressed student queries, reinforcing the message that vigilance and technological literacy are the best defenses against modern-day threats.
