New Delhi, Feb 10 (UNI) Actor Prakash Raj has dismissed rumours suggesting his exit from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming film ‘Spirit’, clarifying that he remains part of the project and has not yet begun filming his portions.
Speculation around his alleged departure recently gained traction online, with several reports claiming a fallout between the actor and the film’s team. Addressing the rumours, Prakash Raj made it clear that the claims were baseless, pointing out that shooting for his scenes has not even commenced.
Taking to social media platform X, the actor wrote, “To all the toxic Fakenews peddlers…. On Spirit the movie . We have not even started shooting for my scenes .. and you whatsup factories speculate stories . Grow up and have a life. justasking.”
With the post, Prakash Raj effectively shut down viral claims that director Sandeep Reddy Vanga had removed him from the film. Some reports had even gone as far as quoting Vanga as saying, “You’re fired,” a claim that the actor’s clarification has rendered untrue.
This is not the first time ‘Spirit’ has made headlines over casting-related speculation. Last year, reports suggested that Deepika Padukone was the frontrunner for the female lead but eventually exited the project.
Industry buzz indicated differences over the film’s demanding schedule, paving the way for Triptii Dimri to come on board.
‘Spirit’ officially went on floors with a mahurat ceremony in Hyderabad in November last year. The film stars Prabhas as a gritty, rebellious police officer and features a strong supporting cast that includes Triptii Dimri, Prakash Raj, and Vivek Oberoi in key roles.
According to reports, Vivek Oberoi plays a formidable antagonist in the film. The makers are now reportedly targeting a mid-2027 theatrical release instead of the previously anticipated year-end window.
