Delhi BJP chief Sachdeva slams AAP for ‘petty politics’ over Janakpuri accident

New Delhi, Feb 8 (UNI) Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva on Sunday accused Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders of doing petty politics over the Janakpuri accident and said their statements showed political frustration rather than sympathy for the victim’s family.

Sachdeva said that the statement issued by Delhi AAP President Saurabh Bharadwaj after the Delhi Government’s programme dedicating 500 new buses to the people did not reflect any concern for the Janakpuri accident.

Instead, he claimed it exposed the frustration of the AAP government for failing to add even a single bus during its 11 years in power.

Expressing grief over the loss of life in the accident, the Delhi BJP President said that losing a family member in any accident is deeply painful and supporting the affected family is the responsibility of the government.

However, he said that indulging in statements and political accusations over the untimely death of a child is highly condemnable.

Sachdeva said that if Saurabh Bharadwaj genuinely cared for the victim’s family, he should have at least visited them instead of issuing statements from Lutyens’ Delhi.

He said the BJP-led Delhi Government is committed to public service, and in this spirit, a simple ceremony was held today in which BJP National President Nitin Nabin dedicated 500 new buses to the people of Delhi.

The Delhi BJP President further said that the family of the late youth Kamal Dhyani, who lost his life in the Janakpuri accident, is associated with the BJP.

He added that Palam MLA Kuldeep Solanki has been supporting the family for the past three days, and today Delhi Minister Ashish Sood also visited the family and expressed his condolences.

Sachdeva said that while the pain felt by AAP leaders Arvind Kejriwal and Saurabh Bharadwaj on February 8 may be understood, no amount of “crocodile tears” will erase what he described as the dark chapter of their government, which, he said, the people of Delhi will not forget or forgive.
