New Delhi: Manav Paropkari Sanstha (MPS) and the Centre for Reforms (CFR), in association with Netram Eye Foundation and Social Action Foundation, successfully organised a multi-specialty health camp at Khanpur Extension in South Delhi to promote community health and well-being.
Harish Dewan, President of MPS and CFR, stated that the camp offered a broad range of essential medical services including counselling for drug de-addiction and rehabilitation, HIV testing, eye examinations, and free distribution of medicines and spectacles. The initiative received an encouraging public response, with nearly 300 people availing themselves of various healthcare facilities.
During the camp, 90 individuals were provided free spectacles, 150 received eye drops, 67 underwent HIV tests, and more than 100 people were counselled for drug de-addiction and rehabilitation. Eye screenings identified cataracts in 50 persons, of whom 29 consented to undergo free cataract surgery. These surgeries will be conducted within the next 15 days under the supervision of Netram Eye Foundation.
Mr Dewan appreciated the support of partner organisations, medical teams, volunteers and well-wishers, reiterating the commitment of MPS and CFR to continue such welfare initiatives, particularly for underprivileged communities. He also informed that similar camps will be organised next week in Khanpur and subsequently in Kapashera, Mahipalpur, Safdarjung Enclave and Green Park. The camp marked a significant step towards preventive healthcare awareness and accessible medical services for all.
