2029 Asian Winter Games shifted to Almaty

Kuwait, Feb 03 (UNI) The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has announced that the 2029 the Asian Winter Games will be held in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The event was originally scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia. The announcement was made on Monday.

The OCA said and Kazakhstan will formalize the agreement by signing a host city contract in Milan, Italy on Thursday.

Saudi Arabia was awarded the hosting rights in 2022. However, last month, the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee and the OCA announced in a joint statement that the event had been postponed indefinitely.
