New Delhi, Feb 1 (UNI) Makers of ‘Mirzapur: The Film’ have officially wrapped up shooting for the cult crime thriller, which is making its big-screen debut.
The film is an adaptation of the hugely successful OTT franchise Mirzapur, created by Puneet Krishna, and marks the series’ expansion into cinemas.
The film is backed by Amazon, MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment.
“It’s a wrap! MirzapurTheFilm. Video courtesy: Tushil Pujari,” the production house Excel Movies confirmed by sharing a behind-the-scenes video on Instagram.
‘Mirzapur: The Film’ has generated particular excitement over the return of fan-favourite character Munna Bhaiya, this time on the big screen.
Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and created by Puneet Krishna, the film is slated for a 2026 theatrical release. It will bring back iconic characters from the series, including Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi), Guddu Pandit (Ali Fazal) and Munna Tripathi (Divyenndu), along with Abhishek Banerjee.
After its nationwide cinema run, the film will premiere on Prime Video eight weeks later.
