Bhopal: In a bid to align its functioning with modern technology and emerging emergency challenges, the Madhya Pradesh Police organised two significant training programmes at police training institutions in Bhauri, Bhopal. The initiatives focused on the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in policing and comprehensive disaster management preparedness in collaboration with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
A one-day seminar on Artificial Intelligence was held at the Police Training School under the guidance of Additional Director General of Police (Training) Raja Babu Singh and the supervision of Superintendent of Police (PTS) Yasmin Zahra Jamal. Subject experts Divyansh Pandey, Somasekhar Reddy and Garima Mehta delivered lectures on “Artificial Intelligence – Fundamental & Essential Guide”. Hemant Verma elaborated on the practical applications of AI in policing, particularly in crime investigation and data analysis. The programme was successfully coordinated with the support of DSP Amrish Patel, Inspector Anita Nagvanshi, Inspector Narendra Belvanshi and RI Ruma Naz.
Simultaneously, disaster management training and a CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) mock drill were conducted at the Police Academy. NDRF experts trained probationary deputy superintendents, new recruits and staff in CPR, first aid, airway management and safe evacuation techniques. A simulated gas leak and chemical accident scenario demonstrated coordinated response by NDRF, SDRF and the municipal fire brigade using advanced protective and rescue equipment.
Academy Deputy Director Dr Sanjay Kumar Agrawal emphasised that police are the first responders in any disaster, making such training vital. NDRF DIG Manoj Sharma and Assistant Director (Training) Rashmi Pandey were also present.
