Modi and Venezuela’s acting Prez Rodríguez pledge to strengthen bilateral ties

New Delhi, Jan 30 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday held a telephone conversation with Venezuela’s Acting President Delcy Rodríguez, agreeing to further deepen and expand India-Venezuela partnership in all areas.

The two leaders discussed strengthening cooperation in trade, investment, energy, digital technology, health, agriculture, and people-to-people ties.

‎”We agreed to further deepen and expand our bilateral partnership in all areas, with a shared vision of taking India-Venezuela relations to new heights in the years ahead,” PM Modi said in a post on X.

‎The leaders also exchanged views on regional and global issues, emphasizing the importance of cooperation for the Global South.

‎Venezuela is a significant partner for India, particularly in the energy sector. India is one of the largest importers of Venezuelan crude oil. The two countries have been strengthening their bilateral ties, with several high-level visits and agreements in recent years.
