Agar Malwa Police bust inter-state MD drugs factory

Bhopal: Acting on the directions of Director General of Police Kailash Makwana, the Madhya Pradesh Police have intensified their crackdown against organised drug trafficking across the state. In a major breakthrough, Agar Malwa police have busted an inter-state MD drugs manufacturing unit and seized illegal narcotics and equipment worth nearly Rs 5 crore.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Additional Director General of Police, Ujjain Zone, Umesh Joga, and Deputy Inspector General, Ujjain Range, Navneet Bhasin, under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Vinod Kumar Singh. On January 20, police arrested Faizan, a resident of Susner, and recovered 330 grams of MD drugs worth Rs 33 lakh.

Subsequent interrogation revealed links to Rajasthan. Acting on this input, a joint team of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan police raided a house in Jhalawar district on January 28, seizing large quantities of MD drugs, smack, ketamine, chemicals, machinery, firearms and mobile phones.

Investigations into the wider network are ongoing.
