EIMPA unveils film release roadmap

Kolkata, Jan 28 (UNI) The Eastern India Motion Pictures Associate’s screening committee meeting on Wednesday unfolded as they scheduled a calendar for movie release dates.

It also became a rare moment of warmth and unity, as the Bengali film industry came together to felicitate Prosenjit Chatterjee.

Addressing the media after the meeting, the EIMPA President the association was “extremely proud” to honour Prosenjit Chatterjee, whom she described as a towering figure of the industry.

Actors like Dev Adhikari, Jeet and Bonny Sengupta, along with filmmakers, producers, technicians and studio representatives attended the felicitation. “Conferring Prosenjit is the first agenda today,” President highlighted.

EIMPA announced a six-month release calendar to bring some clarity to the crowded release space. While January 23 has already passed, February 14 has been earmarked for the release of Studio Plotting Paper, followed by Camellia on February 21. The Eid release window has been kept open for interested producers.

For Poila Boishakh, films from Surinder Films, Shree Venkatesh Films and Nandy Movies are lined up. Camellia has slated another release for April 3. Releases from Shree Venkatesh Films, Camellia and Nideas are lined up for May 15, followed by films from Surinder Films, Windows and Nandy Movies on May 29.
