Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Police Special Task Force (STF) has achieved a major breakthrough in its drive against illegal firearms, with the seizure of five sophisticated pistols along with magazines and the arrest of two accused. The joint operation was carried out by two special teams of the STF Indore unit.

The action was conducted under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Police, STF Indore, Rajesh Singh Chauhan. The first team was led by Inspector Ramesh Chauhan, with Head Constable Bhupendra Gupta and Constable Vivek Dwivedi, while the second team included Head Constable Adarsh Dixit, Constable Devaraj Baghel and Constable Devendra Singh.

Acting on credible intelligence regarding illegal arms trafficking, both teams were dispatched to the specified location. Upon reaching the spot, the STF personnel cordoned off the area and intercepted two suspicious individuals. A lawful search led to the recovery of five advanced pistols and magazines from their possession.

During interrogation, the accused disclosed that they were residents of Boradiya village under Bhikangaon police station in Khargone district. As they failed to produce any valid arms licence, the weapons were seized and legal action initiated.

The STF is conducting a detailed investigation into the source, supply network and possible intended use of the seized firearms. Further legal proceedings are underway.
