Bhopal: Acting on the directions of Director General of Police Kailash Makwana, Madhya Pradesh Police have intensified their crackdown on illegal drug trafficking, leading to major seizures and arrests across the state. Over the past three days, coordinated operations in Ratlam, Narsinghpur, Satna, Katni and Neemuch districts have resulted in the seizure of narcotics, chemicals, weapons, vehicles and other materials worth more than Rs 13.88 crore, with 28 accused taken into custody.
In Ratlam, police busted an illegal MD (methylenedioxymethamphetamine) manufacturing unit, arresting 16 persons and seizing 10.93 kg of MD, manufacturing equipment, chemicals, electronic devices and two four-wheelers, collectively valued at around Rs 12 crore. Two illegal firearms, 91 cartridges, valuable sandalwood and two peacocks kept illegally at a residence were also recovered, with the birds rescued by the Forest Department. Cases have been registered under the NDPS Act and the Arms Act.
In Narsinghpur, under Operation Eagle Claw, police conducted two actions, seizing 106 kg of ganja from a truck and arresting two accused. In a separate case, 31.55 grams of smack was recovered from one person. The total seizure in the district was valued at Rs 58.5 lakh, with three arrests.
In Satna, police seized 400 kg of ganja worth approximately Rs 40 lakh in the Unchehra police station area and arrested one accused.
Katni police recovered 133.93 kg of ganja worth about Rs 50 lakh from two pickup vehicles and a Scorpio, arresting six traffickers.
In Neemuch, a raid led to the seizure of synthetic drugs, narcotic tablets, poppy husk, ganja, MD manufacturing material and equipment worth around Rs 40 lakh, with two accused arrested.
These operations underline the firm resolve of Madhya Pradesh Police to curb drug storage and trafficking through sustained vigilance and coordinated action.
