Bhopal: Serious allegations surrounding Anandpur Dham, linked to the Jhābua area of Ashoknagar district, have moved beyond matters of religious faith and now point to alleged sexual exploitation, land grabbing and organised criminal activity involving Dalit and Adivasi communities. The claims were made by Pradeep Ahirwar, State President of the Scheduled Caste Department of the Madhya Pradesh Congress.
Ahirwar alleged that Dalit and Adivasi women and youths living at the ashram were subjected to prolonged sexual abuse by several individuals associated with the trust. Victims have reportedly faced threats, job loss and intimidation when they attempted to resist or complain. Allegations of coercion, forced signatures and destruction of evidence have also been raised.
The Congress leader further accused people linked to the ashram of illegally occupying Dalit, Adivasi and government land, using fear and religious influence. Claims of cattle smuggling, financial irregularities, money laundering and the presence of individuals with criminal backgrounds were also highlighted.
Questioning administrative inaction despite written complaints, Ahirwar demanded a CBI inquiry, protection for victims and accountability of officials, warning that failure to act would undermine justice for marginalised communities.
