- Cousins were returning from coaching
A horrific road accident in the Sohagpur area of Narmadapuram district on Saturday night claimed the lives of three young students, plunging three families into grief. The accident occurred near Karanpur village when the scooter carrying the students rammed into a paddy-laden tractor-trolley parked on the roadside. The impact was so severe that all three students died on the spot.
Returning from coaching classes
The deceased have been identified as Ashwin Raghuvanshi, son of Lalit Raghuvanshi, Shiv Raghuvanshi, son of Rameshwar Raghuvanshi, and Manuraj Raghuvanshi, son of Praveen Raghuvanshi. All three were residents of Amdehi village, cousins by relation, and students of Class 9 at St. Patrick’s School, Sohagpur.
The accident occurred around 8:30 pm while they were returning to their village, located about five kilometers away, after attending coaching classes in Sohagpur. Their scooter collided with the tractor-trolley parked near Chaudhary Petrol Pump in Karanpur.
Following the incident, Sohagpur Police Station in-charge Usha Maravi, Tehsildar Neeru Jain, and Janpad Vice President Raghavendra Raghuvanshi reached the spot along with the police force. The bodies were taken to the government hospital, where a large crowd of villagers and relatives gathered.
After post-mortem examinations on Sunday morning, the bodies were handed over to the families. Police have seized the tractor-trolley and launched an investigation to check whether proper reflectors or warning signs were placed on the vehicle parked in the dark.
