BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh government late on Sunday evening issued transfer orders for 26 senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, signalling a significant administrative reshuffle. Among the key changes, T Elaiyaraj has been entrusted with the Tourism Department, while Tarun Rathi has been appointed Commissioner, Tribal Development, and S Dhanaraju has taken charge as Health Commissioner.
The large-scale reallocation of responsibilities is expected to bring fresh momentum to governance and policy implementation across departments. Senior officers have been posted to several crucial portfolios, reflecting the government’s focus on administrative efficiency.
As per the orders, Shivshekhar Shukla (1994 batch) has been appointed Additional Chief Secretary, Home and Culture Department, while Umakant Umrao (1996) will serve as Principal Secretary, Animal Husbandry and Dairy. Shobhit Jain (2000) has been made Principal Secretary, AYUSH Department.
John Kingsley A R (2004) has been posted as Secretary, Horticulture and Food Processing, and Shreeman Shukla (2007) as Secretary, Planning and Statistics. Swatantra Kumar Singh (2007) will head the Fishermen Welfare and Fisheries Development Department.
Vishesh Garhpale (2008) has been appointed Managing Director, MP Power Management Company, Jabalpur, while Alok Kumar Singh (2008) will serve as Secretary to the Chief Minister with additional charge of the Mineral Resources Department.
Among other important appointments, Anay Dwivedi (2010) has been posted as Commissioner, Commercial Tax, Indore, Anurag Chaudhary (2010) as Managing Director, MP Fisheries Federation, Neha Marvya Singh (2011) as Additional Secretary, Tribal Affairs, and Gautam Singh (2011) as Commissioner, MP Housing and Infrastructure Development Board.
