Rekha Gupta reviews guard of honour, highlights role of NCC in nation building

New Delhi, Jan 15 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday reviewed the Guard of Honour and interacted with National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets at the Republic Day Parade Camp 2026.

Addressing the media, the Rekha Gupta said that being among thousands of young cadets from across the country was a heartening experience. She described NCC as the strength of India’s youth, preparing them to protect, honour and uphold the pride of the nation. She said that through NCC, today’s youth remain deeply connected to the roots, values and traditions of the country.

Sharing her experience on X, Gupta said she witnessed an atmosphere filled with discipline, determination and a strong spirit of national service at the NCC Republic Day Camp. She reviewed the Guard of Honour, band display and the Hall of Fame, and was briefed on several innovative initiatives being undertaken for cadets.

She also took note of programmes such as the Yuva Aapda Mitra scheme and drone training, describing them as important steps towards making the youth responsible, capable and technologically empowered in line with changing times.

Delhi CM further stated that Indian tradition has always instilled the value of putting the nation first from an early age, and NCC is playing a leading role in carrying forward this legacy.

She praised the organisation for shaping disciplined, confident and patriotic citizens who are ready to contribute to nation-building.
