New Delhi, Jan 14 (UNI) Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh on Wednesday announced the launch of Ayurveda-based Panchakarma therapy at Ayushman Aarogya Mandirs, marking a significant step towards integrating traditional Indian medicine with primary healthcare services in the national capital.
The initiative aims to provide holistic, preventive and therapeutic care to citizens through evidence-based Ayurvedic treatments, further strengthening Ayushman Aarogya Mandirs as comprehensive wellness centres offering accessible and affordable healthcare.
Singh inaugurated a newly established Ayushman Aarogya Mandir at Bhimnagari in Malviya Nagar. Developed as a fully equipped modern primary health facility, the centre offers a wide range of services including General OPD, Dental OPD, Eye OPD, laboratory services, pharmacy, health education and vaccination services, including child immunisation.
The facility also houses a dedicated Dental Care Unit, a Yoga and Wellness Room, and comprehensive preventive-care services. At present, it conducts over 100 in-house diagnostic tests, including essential blood investigations and routine screenings, with plans to expand the capacity to more than 200 tests in the coming days.
Announcing the introduction of Panchakarma services, Singh said the Ayurveda-based therapy will begin at the Bhimnagari centre and will be gradually rolled out across Ayushman Aarogya Mandirs in Delhi, ensuring neighbourhood-level access to holistic and affordable wellness facilities.
He added that the Panchakarma unit being introduced at the centre will be among the finest in the country, ensuring high-quality and holistic care for residents.
