Colleen Hoover shares update on cancer treatment

Los Angeles, Jan 13 (UNI) Author Colleen Hoover, known for ‘It Ends With Us’, has provided an update on her health following her cancer diagnosis earlier this year.

Taking to her Instagram story, Hoover revealed that she is undergoing radiation therapy at Texas Oncology and is approaching her second-to-last session.

“Second to last day of radiation. I wish I could blame my hair and facial expressions on Texas.Oncology, but they’ve been great. Hope you never need them, but highly recommend them,” she wrote, sharing a photo of herself in a hospital gown.

Hoover first disclosed her cancer diagnosis in December 2025 on Facebook, though she did not specify the type of cancer. She had mentioned that she would undergo radiation treatment but would not require chemotherapy.

Reflecting on the timing of her diagnosis, Hoover explained that she postponed sharing her health struggles until after completing work on Reminders of Him, the upcoming film adaptation of her book.

“I continued to put off until the movie was finished. While it felt huge and scary for a bit, I had to miss out on the Regretting You premiere and other important career and personal moments, but I wasn’t ready to share until I knew the outcome,” she said.

In recent posts, Hoover also addressed missing several professional events due to treatment. “I’m super bummed, but I have an unavoidable surgery and can’t travel for a while. I’ll live vicariously through you guys. So sad to miss this movie release and premiere, but so grateful to all the actors and the team who put this together,” she wrote.

Last week, Hoover shared additional details, noting that genetic testing indicated her cancer was not inherited and was unlikely caused by HPV or hormonal factors.

“This means it was more than likely environmental or lifestyle-related, such as lack of exercise, poor diet, and stress,” she explained.
