Bhopal: In a bid to strengthen its organisational base and bring forward a new generation of leaders, the Congress party has rolled out an ambitious ‘Talent Hunt’ programme in Madhya Pradesh. The initiative is aimed at identifying committed yet overlooked party workers and giving them an opportunity to move from the margins to the forefront of party affairs.
Party insiders say the exercise is designed to keep a close watch on grassroots leaders who have remained in the background despite years of work for the organisation. Through the Talent Hunt, such workers will be assessed and given a platform to demonstrate their abilities, with the promise of meaningful roles within the party structure.
According to sources, a high-level team comprising sitting Congress Member of Parliament Saptagiri Ulke, former MLA Aklesh Pratap Singh and national spokesperson Anil Yadav is expected to visit Bhopal shortly. The leaders will interact with party workers and shortlist candidates participating in the Talent Hunt programme.
Those selected are likely to be entrusted with fresh responsibilities at the district, state and even national levels. Sources further revealed that some senior spokespersons may be assigned key organisational roles, while vacant positions will be filled by new faces identified through the Talent Hunt process.
The Congress leadership is said to be particularly focused on revitalising its cadre at the district level. As part of this strategy, every district in Madhya Pradesh is expected to get new party spokespersons, signalling a generational and organisational refresh.
Reacting to the development, Madhya Pradesh Congress media in-charge Dr Mukesh Nayak said the Talent Hunt would continue for at least the next six months, and possibly longer. “The objective is clear—assigning the right responsibility to the right person,” he said, underlining the party’s intent to build a stronger and more effective organisation ahead of future political challenges.
