New Delhi, Jan 9 (UNI) Amid disruptions in the Delhi Assembly’s winter session, Speaker Vijender Gupta ordered the expulsion of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Sanjeev Jha for the entire day, citing repeated interruptions that hindered the House’s proceedings

The Speaker said that Water Supply Minister Pravesh Sharma will be making a statement later in the day, and several bills are also scheduled for introduction. He added that despite repeated warnings, Jha continued to disrupt proceedings, prompting the Chair to instruct marshals to escort him out.

The Speaker appealed to AAP MLAs to allow the House to function smoothly.

During the proceedings, BJP MLA Satish Upadhyay raised an objection against Sanjeev Jha, alleging that the AAP leader accused the Speaker of running the House in a “bulldozing manner.” Upadhyaydescribed such remarks were “unacceptable” and demanded “action” by the Chair.

Responding to the uproar, the Speaker said a discussion on pollution would be held in the House today. He again urged AAP legislators to maintain decorum and cooperate so that legislative business could proceed without hindrance.
