Ensure timely preparations for Ram Ji Yojana across state: Patel

Bhopal: Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development, Prahlad Patel, on Thursday reviewed various departmental schemes and directed officials to complete all preparations for the effective implementation of Ram Ji Yojana and the Developed India – Guarantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural) Bill, 2025, within the prescribed timelines. He emphasized strict adherence to Government of India guidelines and instructed officers to undertake monthly field visits to assess ground realities.

Patel stressed that innovative practices adopted by districts should be replicated statewide and warned of strict action in cases of irregularities. He also directed monthly grading of districts based on performance to promote healthy competition, and asked technical staff to closely monitor construction works to maintain quality.

Updates shared on key schemes

During the review, updates were shared on key schemes including Panchayat Raj, MGNREGA, PM Awas Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, State Rural Livelihood Mission, and rural road development. It was informed that for 2025–26, 2,718 community halls costing ?654.70 crore have been sanctioned, with the first installment already released.
The minister also reviewed the Vrindavan Gram Yojana, under which villages have been selected in all 208 rural assembly constituencies. A five-year action plan will be prepared for each village, supported by an initial grant of Rs 1 lakh.

Appreciating progress under the PESA Act, especially in Jhabua, Patel highlighted growing social awareness in tribal areas. He also noted achievements in plantation drives, rural connectivity projects, and cluster-based vegetable production, which has significantly boosted farmers’ incomes across the state.
