Bhopal: Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang on Thursday inspected preparations at the Water Sports Academy, Upper Lake, ahead of the grand launch of the Khelo MP Youth Games. He directed officials to ensure maximum participation and make all security, technical, and logistical arrangements completely foolproof.
Sarang announced that the Khelo MP Youth Games will be formally launched on January 12, marking Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary, celebrated as National Youth Day. The launch ceremony will take place at Upper Lake at 6 pm, with CM Dr. Mohan Yadav as the chief guest. For the first time in the country, a state-level youth sports event will feature a spectacular 4K water projection on a floating stage, offering an immersive cinematic experience to spectators.
Amid the scenic backdrop of Bhopal’s iconic lake, the theme, logo, and visual story of the Youth Games will be brought alive on a water screen using advanced 4K technology. The ceremony will also include high-quality visual displays, torch-lit fireworks, and special attractions such as a 20-foot “larger-than-life” jersey, adding to the event’s grandeur.
CM will unveil official logo, mascot, anthem, and jersey
During the launch, the Chief Minister will unveil the official logo, mascot, anthem, and jersey of the Khelo MP Youth Games in the presence of senior officials and representatives of state and national sports associations. Minister Sarang said the event will highlight Bhopal’s lakes, presenting Madhya Pradesh as not only a sports-oriented state but also a centre of culture, beauty, and youth energy.
He added that, for the first time, the Sports Department and all recognized sports associations are jointly organizing the Games, creating a transparent and structured platform for talent identification across 28 sports through a phased selection process from block to state level.
