Bhopal: The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) has levelled serious allegations against Bhopal’s Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr Manish Sharma, accusing him of providing protection to fake hospitals, unqualified staff and illegally run medical institutions in the city. NSUI state vice-president Ravi Parmar alleged that instead of taking action, the CMHO’s office has ignored repeated complaints and attempted to intimidate those exposing the irregularities.
Parmar said he has been submitting written complaints for several months regarding serious violations in private hospitals, nursing colleges and pathology laboratories, supported by documentary evidence. However, no inspection teams were sent and no punitive action or cancellation of registrations followed.
District president Akshay Tomar claimed that on December 5, 2025, NSUI informed the CMHO about an allegedly forged inspection report prepared by officials. Although show-cause notices were issued on December 12, no concrete action has been taken even after 25 days.
NSUI further alleged threats and abusive behaviour by officials, captured on CCTV cameras. The organisation has demanded preservation of CCTV footage, registration of FIRs against those involved, and a high-level inquiry, warning of protests and legal action if justice is denied.
