Sood’s remarks were on AAP leaders mindset, not any colony or person: Sachdeva

New Delhi, Jan 3 (UNI) Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva on Saturday slammed Aam Aadmi Party, stating it was unfortunate that despite allegedly stalling national capital’s development during their 11 years of being in power, its leaders are now resorting to petty politics after coming into opposition.

He accused the previous AAP government of induging in the politics of corruption, and responding to AAP’s Delhi unit chief Saurabh Bharadwaj’s allegations against Delhi Minister Ashish Sood, Sachdeva said that whatever the AAP leaders along with Bharadwaj stated on Saturday was baseless and far from the truth.

The BJP leader said that if the AAP leaders do not refrain from creating such false narratives, the people of Delhi, who already voted them away from power, will completely reject them in the forthcoming elections.

The Delhi BJP chief alleged that beginning from February, to November, AAP leaders indulged in false and negative political rhetoric, and as a result, the people of Delhi rejected their eight months of false politics by giving the BJP victory on 7 out of 12 seats in the Delhi Municipal Corporation by-elections.

“It is regrettable that even after this verdict, AAP leaders have not learned any lesson and continue to create false narratives every day,” Sachdeva added.

Sachdeva said that the allegation by AAP leaders that Sood remarked that people coming from small colonies become national spokespersons is entirely misleading, and added that the minister never intended to belittle any colony or individual, while his remarks were aimed at the ‘narrow and petty’ mindset of none other, but the AAP leaders.

The BJP leader said that colonies that AAP leaders are referring to as calling “small,” presently have a strong BJP organization and voter base.

He added that it was this very strength through which the BJP removed AAP from power in the national capital, claiming that this is the reason behind AAP and its leaders’ frustration.
