Bhopal: Under the ‘Booth Chalo, Gaon Chalo’ campaign, the Congress on Thursday constituted the Gram Panchayat Congress Committee at Kedia Dev Panchayat in Bhopal district with the consent of district and block presidents. The formal launch of the committee formation programme was held at Kodia Devka village in Huzur Assembly constituency in the presence of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee president Jeetu Patwari.
Several senior party leaders, including Rural Bhopal District Congress president Anokhi Mansingh Patel, Pradesh Seva Dal chief Avneesh Bhargav, former Lok Sabha candidate Arun Shrivastava, state spokesperson Rahul Raj and representatives of Kisan Congress, block and sub-block units, were present, along with a large number of villagers and senior citizens.
Later, a Kisan Samvad programme was organised at Tila Khedi village, where Patwari interacted with farmers on key issues such as minimum support price, irrigation, fertilisers, seeds and electricity. Assuring farmers of sustained support, he reiterated the party’s resolve to strengthen Congress committees in every gram panchayat across the state over the next two months.
