Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Home Department has promoted 18 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers of the MP cadre with effect from 1 January 2026. On Thursday, Director General of Police Kailash Makwana formally conferred ranks on the promoted officers at the Police Headquarters in Bhopal.
Congratulating the officers, DGP Makwana said the promotions were a recognition of their dedicated, disciplined and sincere service in maintaining law and order across the state. He expressed confidence that the officers would continue to demonstrate strong leadership and contribute effectively to the state’s progress and internal security, while serving as role models for colleagues and subordinates. He added that timely promotions have remained a priority of the state government.
As per orders issued on 31 December 2025, Ashutosh Roy was promoted from Additional DGP to Special DGP, while Pramod Verma was elevated from Inspector General to Additional DGP. Several officers were also promoted from DIG to IG and DIG ranks, strengthening the senior leadership of Madhya Pradesh Police.
