10 killed, 10 wounded after bar explosion in Swiss ski resort Crans-Montana

Geneva, Jan 1 (UNI) At least 10 people were killed and 10 others injured after an explosion at a bar in the Crans-Montana ski resort in Valais Canton of southwestern Switzerland on Thursday, a Swiss public broadcaster reported.

The blast occurred at around 1:30 a.m. local time (0030 GMT) and triggered a fire at the bar, Radio Television Suisse (RTS) reported, citing Valais cantonal police.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but the cause of the blast remains unclear.

A press conference on the incident is scheduled for 10 a.m. local time (0900 GMT), the report said.
